Australia v Sri Lanka Dice Cricket World Cup Group A

The match was the chance for Australia to get their Dice Cricket World Cup campaign back on track. For Sri Lanka, it was all about not losing by a big margin at least. Sri Lanka Openers are in great form and so are their Bowlers. Dennis Lillee is having a great tournament so far for Australia. 

It was a glorious win for Sri Lanka as they proved that they belong here. Sanath Jayasuriya once again unlucky to miss out on a Century despite having an ample time. He was dismissed by none other than Dennis Lillee - a man in form. Kumar Sangakkara made sure that Sri Lanka reach a good Total. 

Australia did lose early Wickets but recovered due to Bradman & Hayden partnership. Sir Don Bradman Half Century was not enough as Chaminda Vaas & Lasith Malinga combined to restrict Australia. 

It means Sri Lanka becomes the first team to qualify for the Dice Cricket World Cup Semi Finals. Australia is almost out of the competition. New Zealand is now favorite to secure qualification for the second Semi Final spot. They will face the out of form West Indies team.

West Indies v Sri Lanka Dice Cricket World Cup Group A

Sri Lanka with a chance to get close to Semi Final qualification while the mighty West Indies with a chance to make a comeback. The quality Bowling of West Indies needs to find form in the T10 format. The Sri Lankan Top Order can be very dangerous.

Sri Lanka with a massive win as Jayasuriya misses out on a Century on the final ball. Jayasuriya and Dilshan combined for an explosive opening partnership of 179 Runs. Ambrose dismissed Jayasuriya on the final ball to deny him a Century. All West Indies Bowlers were punished.

Dilhara Fernando again with 4 Wickets as he has now taken 8 Wickets in the tournament so far. All the Lankan Bowlers performed except Malinga. West Indies Captain Sir Viv Richards was the only one who threatened to take down the seemingly impossible Target. However, no one helped him in the cause. Sri Lanka are now almost guaranteed a place in the Semi Finals due to +91 Win Margin. West Indies are almost knocked out of the tournament.

Sri Lanka will now face Australia which is a must win game for Australia. West Indies will face New Zealand where they need to win by 10 Wickets or about 50 Runs to qualify for the Semi Finals & hope for Sri Lanka win over Australia.

Australia v New Zealand Dice Cricket World Cup Group A

The game was a chance for Australia to get closer to the Semi Final qualification while a chance for New Zealand to restore their hopes in Dice Cricket World Cup. The Trans-Tasman rivalry was at its intense. Ponting & Steve Smith with the Bat and Dennis Lillee and Glenn McGrath with the ball were in-form for Australia.

New Zealand upset their bigger Trans-Tasman rivals by 29 runs courtesy some tight Bowling by Trent Boult and Tim Southee. The Run Rate kept creeping as no one managed to support Dave Warner. His dismissal by Kiwi-Australian Leg Spin legend Clarrie Grimmett turned the Match in New Zealand's favour. Sir Bradman once again failed to deliver. Sir Richard Hadlee took his valuable wicket. Shane Bond took the prize Wicket of captain Ricky Ponting. 

Earlier, New Zealand legend Martin Donnelly and captain Stephen Fleming took the Total to 131 despite losing regular Wickets. Legendary Pacer Dennis Lillee and All Rounder Keith Miller were the pick of the Bowlers for Australia.

This means New Zealand goes from 4th to 3rd position. Australia has dropped to 2nd from Top.

New Zealand v Sri Lanka Dice Cricket World Cup Group A

Mahela Jayawardene see Sri Lanka home after Opener Tilakaratne Dilshan's Half Century despite 2 Wickets in the penultimate over by Tim Southee. Jayawardene hit two Fours and 1 Six to get the Target down to 8 off 6 balls in the penultimate over after back to back Wickets by Southee. 

Earlier, all Sri Lankan bowlers performed well except Herath. Keeper Brendan McCullum Half Century took New Zealand to a respectable Total of 125. New Zealand Batting had collapsed to the Sri Lankan Bowlers. Australia still top the Table by virtue of scoring more Runs followed by Sri Lanka. West Indies and New Zealand are at the bottom.

Australia win by 7 Wickets with Player of the Match performance from their captain Punter. He led the chase aided by Steve Smith who hit two Sixes off Sir Curtly Ambrose in the penultimate over to seal the victory. 

However, Australia was off to a slow start as they lost 3 quick Wickets including Two Ducks by Dave Warner and Sir Don Bradman. Legendary Guyanese Off Spinner Lance Gibbs finished with 2 Wickets. 

Earlier, Australian legendary Pacer Dennis Lillee wrecked havoc on the West Indian Top Order Batters. However, Guyanese and Trinidadian Batting legends Shiv Chanderpaul and Brian Lara led the recovery. Glenn McGrath finished with 2 Wickets.

Australia lead the Group A Table with 2 Points and +35 (7 Wickets × 5 = 35) Win Margin.

How does Dice Cricket work? Cricketer Categories

Dice Cricket is a very hard thought and researched attempt by me to allow fantasy Cricket Matches that are guided by players' real life career statistics using a Custom Dice (link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mlz.customdice.free). The custom dice gives more chance to a better player whether he is Batting or Bowling. However, there is a chance that two players with almost similar achievements give a difference performance on the day depending upon the luck tossed by the dice. The greater the players in a team, the greater there chances of winning. The following are the Player Categories in both Batting and Bowling along with the criteria and performance outcome of each category:

8 BATTING CATEGORIES:

1. Master Blaster (Sign 👑)

High scorer with a higher Strike Rate.

Criteria:

5000+ Runs (in any International format) or 20000 FC (First Class) Runs, 50+ Avg (Average) & 80+ ODI SR (Strike Rate) / 10000+ Runs 

2. The Wall (♠️)

High scorer with a slower Strike Rate.

Criteria:

5000+ Runs or 20000+ FC Runs & 50+ Avg / 10000+ Test Runs or 50000+ FC Runs

3. Quality Batter (♦️)

Almost as good as The Master Blaster & The Wall.

Criteria:

5000+ Runs or 10000+ FC Runs & 40+ Avg or 40000+ FC Runs / 50+ Avg & 1000+ Runs / 5000+ FC Runs & 50+ FC Avg

4. Good Batter (❤️)

Good competitor on international level.

Criteria:

1000+ Runs or 5000+ FC Runs & 30+ Avg or 40+ FC Avg / 50+ Avg / 1000+ FC Runs & 50+ FC Avg

 

5. Slogger (🃏)

Great Strike Rate but can get out quickly.

20+ Avg & 100+ ODI SR or 150+ T20I SR

6. Avg Batter (♣️)

Not a very great record.

20+ Avg or 30+ FC Avg 

7. Poor Batter (🦆)

Not a quality Batter.

Under 20 Avg or Under 30 FC Avg  

8. Tail Ender 

Cannot Bat on international level.

Under 10 Avg / Under 20 FC Avg

If a Batter has no official International Statistics, he will be considered as Tail Ender. If a Cricketer with no Statistics is not a recognized Batter, his 6 will be considered an Out.

4 BOWLING CATEGORIES:

1. World Class (Sign 🌐)

Among the best Bowlers in the world.

Criteria:

500+ Wickets / 300+ Wickets & Under 30 Avg / Under 20 Avg & 500+ FC Wickets / 3000+ FC Wickets 

2. Quality Bowler (🏆)

Great Bowler.

Criteria:

300+ Wickets / 100+ Wickets or 500+ FC Wickets & Under 30 Avg / 50+ Wickets & Under 20 Avg

3. Good Bowler (🏅)

Not the best International Bowler.

Criteria:

100+ Wickets or 300+ FC Wickets & Under 40 Avg or Under 30 FC Avg 

4. Avg Bowler (♟️)

A rookie Bowler on the International level.

Criteria:

Under 100 Wickets or Under 300 FC Wickets / Under 30 FC Avg & 100+ FC Wickets

A Bowler with no International Statistics will be considered a category lower than an Average Bowler.
